How Do I RSVP For An Upcoming Orientation?

Once there are program openings, you will receive notice of the available opportunities. Be on the lookout for the position and schedule that best matches what you're looking for and sign up via the link provided in that email. You will receive a follow-up email message providing you with further information about the orientation.  If you are unable to attend your scheduled orientation, please remove yourself via the Event Brite website.

PLEASE NOTE: OC Animal Care is fortunate to have so many caring community members eager to help the animals at our shelter so volunteer orientations fill up very quickly. Please be patient!

Why Must I Attend An Orientation?

OC Animal Care prides itself on our quality volunteers, specifically selected for their passion and love for animals! Each potential volunteer must undergo a recruitment process that ensures the volunteer and OC Animal Care are a good fit for each other. The OC Animal Care Potential Volunteer Orientation is provided to give you information about our program and our shelter services, you will spend roughly 1.5 hours in an informational seminar illuminating the different areas available to volunteer, the last half hour will be a tour of our shelter led by one of our lead volunteers. Attendance at Orientation does not guarantee a spot in the volunteer program but does give you all of the information you need to become a volunteer at our shelter. Selection, processing and training can take up to two months. We take great pride in the time and training we invest in our volunteers and hope that you will too.

Orientation meetings are an excellent opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding the volunteer program. There is absolutely no obligation to join the program, although we expect to add several wonderful new volunteers to our team from each orientation!
