Shelter Tours

To protect public health and slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19, the County of Orange is following guidelines set forth by the California Department of Public Health and canceling or postponing large gatherings including shelter tours of all sizes for the time being. We apologize for the inconvenience but value you as a patron. More information about COVD-19 can be found at the Health Care Agency website

OC Animal Care offers free tours of the shelter to all ages from children to adults.  Tours are led by OC Animal Care volunteers and staff and are scheduled 7 days a week between 11:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Tours consist of the following:

  • An overview of the shelter
  • Information about the shelter’s daily functions and operations
  • Overview of adoption procedure
  • Overview of the daily care of animals housed at the shelter
  • Visiting time with dogs, cats and bunnies

At the end of the tour, volunteers and staff will be on hand to answer questions about the shelter and the animals.

Tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis and certain times of the year book quickly. To schedule your shelter tour, please contact the Public Education Officer at 714-796-6426.
